ASP's V Software Pros And Cons

ASP Pros

  • HR Departments do not typically have their own IT resources and can often be a low priority for internal IT. Asp's give HR the functionality they need, when they need it.
  • By using an ASP, you can usually expect to get the application running faster than if the user bought the software, as the provider is an expert in the product.
  • The usual heavy upfront implementation costs associated with software are non-existent.
  • A fixed cost means protection from hidden implementation costs.
  • Frees up valuable internal resources, from space on the hard drive to labour.
  • Quicker and more effective trouble shooting as the ASP technical staff are experts and specifically assigned to that application.
  • The ASP will manage the usual problems associated with maintaining systems, for example, scrubbing data, fixing bugs, upgrading the system and backing up and securing the data.
  • Minimises the need to hire and retain the right IT people, no small task in today's market.
  • No need to train staff on running / maintaining software.
  • Organisations can hold the vendors accountable, or at the very least share the risk.
  • Allows a company to concentrate on its core business processes.
