Email a link to Web based or Intranet
based attitude survey questionnaire
4.1 Process
Email holds hot link to the Attitude Survey questionnaire. Email sent direct to respondent who clicks on the hot link opening up the questionnaire on the web or intranet.
4.2 Strengths
Probably the most rapid approach that offers least chance of data errors as returned data goes directly into the database without any additional inputting or processing. Probably the most cost effective way to run as no printing or additional data capture needs to be done.
4.3 Weaknesses
Respondents to have an intranet and/or net access, some fire walls disable the hot links if they come through from the internet. If some respondents do not have access then the additional support processes to cope with these people can outweigh the overall benefits.
4.4 Security
High security; when the respondent submits the Attitude Survey questionnaire only a stream of data goes back to the server not the whole questionnaire. Anyone intercepting that data would need to have a copy of the questionnaire to make sense of it. Even higher levels of security can be achieved by using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology that encrypts the data in the same way as national security services transmit high security documents.
