Email Attitude Survey attachment

3.1 Process

The Attitude Survey questionnaire is emailed direct to the respondent as an attached document that s/he opens, completes, closes and returns.

3.2 Strengths

Attitude Survey questionnaires can be easier and less costly to set up than for paper or web based processes.

3.3 Weaknesses

Software compatibility and need for the respondent to have an email account. Unless the return process can be automated this approach has another problem in that respondents naturally select the reply key to return the email. This sends the email back but not the attachment, the respondent must use the forward option to get the attached document back.

3.4 Security

If the email is intercepted then it can be opened as a complete Attitude Survey questionnaire. Intercepting an email is not hard for someone with the knowledge but it is still comparatively rare.
