Use an Attitude Survey with
good reliability and validity
Validity is how well an Attitude Survey measures what it should. This usually means measuring each Attitude Survey topic by asking several questions. At least three questions, and preferably five on each Attitude Survey topic are advisable. Review the validity of the Attitude Survey by comparing it to existing methods of gathering information to minimise missing or unclear questions.
Reliability is how consistent the Attitude Survey is over time, and the consistency of Attitude Survey items with each other. If an Attitude Survey is unreliable, Attitude Survey statistics will move up and down without employee opinions really changing. Therefore what may look like a significant change over time may be due to the unreliability of the Attitude Survey methods used.
